Tucked away in the idyllic Suffolk countryside close to the Norfolk border you will find Athelington Hall a working farm, which dates back to 1620. An impressive moat and acres of open fields surround the 17th century Hall, complete with a fine avenue of oak trees.

The comfortable log cabin lodges are ideal just to relax, unwind and escape the hassle of work or as a base to explore the East Anglian countryside, the heritage coast, and the Norfolk Broads.

What does the area have to offer?

The breathtaking Suffolk Heritage Coast is only twenty five minutes drive away and the famous seaside towns of Aldeburgh, Snape, Minsmere and Southwold form part of this historic Heritage Coast. There is also a castle at nearby Orford, and Minsmere Bird Reserve. The riverside town of Woodbridge is only twenty minutes away and the new Sutton Hoo National Trust site has recently opened just outside of Woodbridge. There is also Easton Farm Park and Framlingham, a market town with a medieval castle and indeed within a short drive are Bury St Edmunds with the Abbey and spectacular gardens or Newmarket, home of the racing.

Athelington Hall is located beween the two County Towns of Norfolk and Suffolk, namely Norwich and Ipswich respectively

Norwich
The city has a delightful jumble of medieval streets and lanes with attractive half timbered houses. The castle towers over the city and now houses a museum acclaimed as one of the best in Britain. Norwich was voted one of the top ten shopping destinations with a wide choice of individual small shops, full of local character alongside the larger departmental chain stores.

Ipswich
Set beside the River Orwell, Ipswich is England's oldest continuously settled Anglo-Saxon town with many historic medieval buildings. The waterfront has a Marina, restaurants and river cruises or visit the town centre for good shopping, nightlife (theatres) or just a fun day out.
